Recently the children from St Marie’s Primary School came to church for a visit as part of their work on special places and special people.
Fr Francis welcomed the children and spoke to them about the parish community and the church building. He mentioned the work that is hopefully going to begin soon on repairing the tower of the church. This work is only possible for us to undertake due to funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund. We are most grateful to them and to National Lottery Players who make this possible.
The children spent some time looking around the church and identifying some of its key features. Father Francis also explained to the children the significance of the Easter Candle.
