Every Sunday we gather to celebrate Mass. We come from different backgrounds, from different traditions and from many different parts of the world to celebrate our faith.

Recently at St Marie’s we celebrated an International Mass to give thanks for and celebrate the many cultures, traditions and countries that make up our vibrant parish community. We displayed a map highlighting the countries where people came from. Representatives of these countries came forward at the beginning of Mass and placed a flag near the altar. The bidding prayers reflected the many languages used in our community as did the Eucharistic Prayer which was prayed by Fr Francis in French, Italian, Polish and Latin.

It was a very enjoyable celebration and we hope to repeat it soon at St Joseph’s Church.
