Our altar servers formally enrolled into the Guild of St Stephen.

Congratulations to parishioner Bill Toye who was presented with a pin and certificate at the 9.15am Mass at St Joseph’s on Sunday 11th May for achieving 60 years as a Pioneer.

At St Peter’s Basilica in Rome on the Solemnity of the Annunciation, the Holy Father, consecrated Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Catholic Bishops in England and Wales also joined Pope Francis in the consecration on that day.

On Sunday 17th October 2021 at St Marie’s Church, Susan Hyndman was presented with the Benemerenti Medal.

Bury Cine Society has captured on film the restoration of the Lantern Tower. Two short extracts are now available for viewing.

The iconic lantern and tower of St. Marie’s Church is once more gracing the town centre skyline of Bury following its complete rebuilding.

As we come into a new year into a cold and dark January, and yet another lockdown, it is understandable to feel despondent.
